Linda Salvin, billed as "the nation's top radio psychic" (not to be cynical, but can you name another?), has returned to KLSX (97.1 FM) after almost a year off the local airwaves.
Her show previously aired on KLSX from July 2005 to November 2005, when KLSX decided to move in another direction for its weekend programming. Bringing her back is a big move for both Salvin - who gains a major affiliate - and her fans, many of whom consider her show a must-listen.
According to her biography, Salvin was not born with psychic gifts. Prior to 1981, she was a normal, everyday person with a successful career in public health. Then she survived a commercial airline crash. As she exited the plane, she says, she heard reassuring voices telling her she would be unharmed. Two traffic accidents and a surgery over the next 10 years, she says, caused her spiritual connection and psychic abilities to grow. Eventually she gave up her health career to focus on her metaphysical gifts.
Salvin began in radio on KBIG (104.3 FM) in 1994, eventually , moving to KIEV (now KRLA, 870 AM), and then into syndication on a few stations including KLSX and the Cable Radio Network.

OK, we're not really making predictions here, but KLSX/97.1 FM appears to be on a winning path with its decision to bring back psychic Linda Salvin starting Aug. 19 from 9 to 11 p.m.
Programmers know talk radio is tough to do. It's not enough to have an interesting topic. You have to be alternately funny, serious, well-informed, be able to think fast – and always, always be compelling. Many wannabe talkers stumble and disappear from major markets, never to be heard from again. How they even got there in the first place is a mystery, but that's for solving another day.
Salvin is one of those rare talk show hosts who creates compelling radio shows – many call her program appointment listening.
Yes, she's a psychic, and people who want on-air readings form the core audience. But for the rest of us, she does entertain, and that's what great talk radio is all about. Psychic Linda Salvin has been doing a call-in show on CRN for the past decade and most recently dazzling audiences at KLSX. Last week, KXOL, the red-hot English/Spanish station, needed a psychic for Friday the 13th on the Morning Show with Nico Jones. “They wanted me to channel some prostitute who apparently died in a building on Pico Blvd. that housed the LA Rams' home office. I channeled a dead spirit accurately. Apparently eight men had sex with the young girl who'd been drinking and drugging. After the party she was found dead from the heat of the Jacuzzi water. I did such an amazing job, the pd, Pio Ferro, called the show with the chills. And I blew the producer out of the water regarding his dad. I brought tears to his eyes and he was choked up on air,” emailed Linda.
